Myths, Legends and the Tales That Shaped Us

Five writers, one reading room, and a devotion to old stories that has guided us for more than a decade — gathering myths, folklore and forgotten legends from every corner of the world and giving them a new telling.

How it began

It began with one old book

Pegasus Royal Truffle started with a single battered old book found at a market stall, its pages full of half-remembered legends and the kind of storytelling that refuses to be forgotten.

The reading room is larger now and the shelves are our own, but every story is still researched and written one tale at a time, by people who put their name to what they publish.

We publish a little less than we could. It keeps the research honest and the retelling true to the original folklore.

If a story leaves the desk and we would not read it again ourselves, it does not leave at all.

Sources

Legends, statues and manuscripts

We draw from archives we have visited ourselves, translating only as many old texts as we can study closely before the trail goes cold.

Fragments of forgotten tales are woven back into new retellings, and every legend is cross-checked here against old books and ancient art rather than copied from a single source.
